The Academy’s U-20 4th Year Women’s Football Trainees Team, participating in the 2017 Ethiopian Women’s Premier League, concluded the first round of the competition in 3rd place after defeating Gulele Sub-City 4-2 in their final 13th-week match held at the Hawassa Logita Artificial Stadium on January 18, 2017 E.C., at 10:00 AM.
The winning goals for the Academy were scored by Mihret Ayele, named Player of the Match, who netted two goals, while Hana Abraham and Aliya Aman contributed the remaining goals.
Throughout the 1st round, the Academy’s standout players, including Tigest Yohannes (three times), Kalkidan Zelalem, Mahlet Sirak, Rediet Kinde, Mihret Ayele, and Mantegbosh, were selected as “Player of the Match” in eight of the 13 games played.
The Academy demonstrated exceptional performance in the league, securing #27_points by #winning_eight_matches, #drawing_three, and losing only #two_matches out of the #13_matches it played in the round, finishing the first round in #3rd_place behind Sheger City and Yirgachefe Coffee.
The second round of the league is expected to resume after a short break, with the Ethiopian Football Federation announcing the schedule and venues in due course.
